The New Electrics are a damn fine band,they write pleasant poppy tunes that make your feet tap and  the audience sway gently from side to side in that 1980 's CURE style of  self possessed cuteness .

I like them as people, they re talented yet I' m willing them to touch me on any other level than radio friendliness .Song after song is quaint catchy quirky and just too perfect.

Halfway through,I feel like MONTY PYTHON S Mr Creosote as they offer me one last wafer thin mint,I want to scream,"Fuck off I'm full ",but they wont stop,they keep on,"just one last wafer thin slice of pop confectionery, monsieur".

I hope they sell a million records cos they re from Brum,but I wish this city could produce a cutting edge band who set your heart on fire ,hurt your brain,disturb your sleep patterns,THE NEW ELECTRICS do not .........
